- Geographical Situation: Madagascar is in the Indian Ocean.
The African coasts are located at 400 km in the west, the Comores
and the island of Mayotte in the North-West, Mauritius and the
French department of the island of the Meeting in the east.

- Capital: Antananarivo or Tananarive. 1 million inhabitants;

the Highlands, with regional dialectal alternatives.
French is the 2e official language, usually spoken in the cities, a
little less in the campaigns

- Religions : worship of the ancestors for more half of the population, Catholicism and Protestantism with equal shares,

FORMALITIES

THE VISA IS OBLIGATORY .
There are 2 kinds of tourist visas.

- The visa 30 day in the arrival (in theory non-renewable): delivered with the airport of Tananarive or in the airports of
province, connected to the island of the Meeting. Completely unforeseeable, the tarif of this visa is approximately 35euro in
Paris and more or less 15euro on the spot.

- The 90 maximum day Visa, before the departure: delivered by the embassy or the consulate of Madagascar in theory in
5 working days. By correspondence, to envisage 15 days of time. Cost: 35 euro in cash for an entry and 40euro in cash for 2 entries
on the territory.
